Ways To Serve

"Brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another."  (Galatians 5:13)

God gifts people in many different ways…some are blessed with musical gifts, teaching ability, organizational skills, interpersonal skills … Here are some opportunities at Franklin Presbyterian Church to “let your light shine”.  If you would like to help in any of these areas, please contact us.
 
Music  

  • Sing in Adult Choir
  • Play in Hand Bell Choir
  • Children’s Choir
  • Special music (instrumental / solo vocal / small group vocal)
  • Substitute organist / pianist
Worship Service
  • Serve as an usher 
  • Serve as a lector (reader)
  • Liturgical dance
  • Offering prayer
  • Give a children's sermon
  • Your gifts and ideas are welcome in worship!

Teaching

  • Adult Sunday School 
  • Children’s Sunday School 
  • Young Adult Sunday School
  • Adult workshop or seminar 
  • Help with Vacation Bible School
  • Work with middle school / high school youth group
  • Help in Nursery
  • Lead a Sunday Night Live session or series

Mission

  • Work with local missions (i.e. Habitiat for Humanity, Summer Feeding Program)
  • Serve on boards as a representative or church (i.e. Good Samaritan)
  • Organize mission events 
  • Help with annual yard sale, Bean Soup Lunch, mission fundraisers
  • Work with membership recruitment

Building and Grounds

  • Help with cleaning the building 
  • Help with cleaning up grounds
  • Lend handy-man/woman skills for minor repairs, painting, etc.
  • Gardening 
  • Providing flowers for worship

Other gifts or talents you are willing to share

  • Visiting shut-ins or nursing homes
  • Comfort meals
  • Running errands or transportation to doctor visits
  • Providing transportation to church
